In the interview
Assuming you have done your homework prior to the interview, we now talk about being in the actual interview. Careful preparation for interview questions and company background are only one way to succeed in an interview situation: it is as important to be attentive to your appearance, expected behaviors and non-verbal communication.
One of the most cited findings states that only 7% of a message in a conversation is conveyed by words. In the case of job interviews, this percentage does not fully apply, as the goal is clearly to assess your competency level. Your interviewers will therefore listen closely to what you are saying. Still, those numbers suggest that appearance and behavior should be key attention points for you throughout the interview stages.
