Work on your development goals to steer high performance and accelerate your career progression.
After a successful onboarding you have the basic resources and tools in place in order to steer your development for bigger things to come. It’s the phase where you can showcase that you have the proper attitude, strong skills and the capabilities of an overachiever.
Learning and development comes in 3 major forms: through traditional “classroom learning”, on the job learning in specific assignments, and through networking activities where coaching and mentoring are the most famous types. Important is that you find the right learning mix and that you make development a priority. Development is not a one-time activity but rather a continues, career-long effort. Development is crucial for a thriving career, but it is often difficult to keep it high on our priority list due to the workload of our daily schedule.
Since you took the assessment in the Discover module and downloaded your development report in the Onboard module, you know where your gaps are. Try to stretch out your efforts and energy into the areas of your weaknesses. That is usually not pleasant and it’s easier to find an excuse in our busy agendas. However, it’s crucial to close those gaps before moving into the next role.
This module will both help you identify your areas for development and show you how to plan for that development in your daily work.
